Introduction

This WebQuest will provide the student an opportunity to prepare for their future.  During this Quest students will rent or purchase their home; furnish that home; purchase a vehicle; prepare a realistic monthly budget; find a career that will provide the required financial stability; then investigate the requirements needed to obtain that career.

Learners

This WebQuest was prepared for 9th - 12th grade Family Life Students as well as other Career and Technology classes.  Senior Math or Senior Economics classes could also benefit from using this WebQuest.

Process

As the students progresses through the WebQuest they should keep their notes on a word document as well as a hard copy. 

The student will complete the following exercises:

  • Rent or purchase a house
  • Furnish that home
  • Purchase a vehicle
  • Complete a realistic monthly budget
  • Find a Career with a yearly salary to fit their monthly budget
  • Requirements to obtain that career
  • Prepare a visual presentation on their findings.

Conclusion

This WebQuest was prepared to help students have a better understanding for the finanical needs of their future.  They will gain the knowledge for obtaining a home, vehicle, and furnishing.  With this knowledge in hand they will be better prepared for choosing a career and knowing what requirements are needed to obtain that career.
