This WebQuest is actually a work in progress. In the actual project assignment each group in the class is assigned a decade of the 1900s. Because this WebQuest was created as a WebQuest course requirement, there was not enough time to cover all aspects of each decade.

Making this project work required some creativity. Every year Mr. Duncan, the US History teacher and I have to workout time frames suitable to both of our teaching schedules. Sometimes his entire class can use my facilities and other times just one group (5 students) can come and work together at a single computer. The other students work on their posters and research papers with Mr. Duncan. However, since all of the computers at our school are networked, the final presentations are given in the social studies classroom using the teacher's workstation and a LCD projector.

This WebQuest is a collaborative effort between the Social Studies department and Career & Technology Department.  Because of interdisciplinary subjects used, a variety of standards are recognized.

Note:  Language Arts Standards could easily be added to this project. Since we cover MLA format in Career & Technology instruction, I did not include the Language Arts Standards.
