Open Space Foundation   The mission of the Open Space Foundation is to enhance the quality of life for all East Cooper residents through education and preservation of open space by promoting protection, acquisition ans stewardship or our land resources.   On Thursday, March 5. 2009 students at James B. Edwards had the opportunity to unite both the mission of the Open Space Foundation and the eucational mission of our school by joining in the dedication ceremony of the "Headwaters to Shem Creek"  Future classes will be able to enjoy the benefits of accessing this site as an outdoor learning center.  Located within a short walking distance, this new land grant managed by the Open Space Foundation is an ideal and inexpensive way for generations of students to enjoy this outdoor educational area.
