WJBE is a weekly live TV news show produced by fifth
graders and a faculty advisor, Mrs.
Burns. Fifth grade students audition for the anchor positions. The anchors
are responsible for writing a story a week for the show. The show is broadcasted
on Friday mornings via a closed-circuit cable system. The format includes
classroom and school news, weather, sports, student art and projects, the
Word of the Week (WOW) and guest speakers. Goopy, the K.I.N.D. Club
(Kids in Nature's Defense) frog hand puppet brings environmental messages.
Every two weeks, technology tips are are presented by Techno the Robot.
