WJBE is a monthly live TV news show produced by fifth graders and a faculty committee. Fourth and Fifth grade students audition at the end of the year.  Fifth grade students and are responsible for writing a story a month for the show and Fourth grade students are “shadows” learning how to do the show for next year. The students meet with Mr. Simpson every Friday during recess to discuss progress, but the students are responsible for the writing, planning, and filming.  It is broadcasted on the last Friday morning of the month via a closed-circuit cable system. The format includes Spotlight on Special Area, Exceptional Egrets, Special Happenings from the classroom and school, Sports, Guiding Light (Guidance topics) and guest speakers.
